Progain Extreme from Maximuscle

Progain Extreme is Maximuscle’s biggest selling weight gainer they have ever produced and it has dominated the market in the UK for quite some time now.  Almost everyone has heard of Maximuscle, as they do market their products extensively.

Per serving, Progain Extreme will provide 508 calories when mixed with water.  This is like a meal in itself calorie wise and is brilliant for adding on extra mass.  Maximuscle Progain Extreme provides around 41g of protein per serving, which is 125g, so all in all an ideal amount of protein for a post workout shake.  For adding on the mass, this is where the complex carbohydrates play their role in Maximuscle Progain Extreme, at a massive 66g per serving.  Besides the protein and carbohydrates, Maximuscle have added in extra fibre to help with digestion, some medium chain triglycerides as added ‘good’ fats.  Additionally, Maximuscle Progain Extreme contains 3g of creatine per serving to help aid water retention in the muscle and provide extra energy for the muscles.  3g of glutamine peptides are also added to help with muscle recovery, plus 3g of HMB.

With the nutrient side of things out the way, let’s look at the price.  Typically for Maximuscle Progain Extreme, a 2kg tub costs roughly £30 give or take.  Therefore, £15 per kilo, which is at the upper end of the price bracket when it comes to weight gainers.  Although the ingredients inside Progain Extreme are good, the price is a little steep, compare it USN’s Muscle Fuel Anabolic or Reflex Instant Mass.
